Verse of the day: Matthew 24:35
"Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away."
Everything we see, touch, and trust in this world is passing away. Mountains erode, stars burn out, even civilizations fade into memory. Yet, in this verse, Jesus reminds us that His words—His promises, commands, and love—stand beyond the reach of time. “Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away” is not just a statement about durability; it is an invitation to build our lives on what cannot fail.
Imagine the illuminated manuscript: the world itself cracking and dissolving, while golden letters gleam in the darkness. It’s a striking picture of what faith looks like. So often, our hearts cling to the earthly—our plans, possessions, or achievements—believing they will secure us. But the illustration calls us to lift our eyes from the fading earth to the living Word that endures. The radiant script in the artwork represents truth that does not crumble: Christ’s promises of forgiveness, His assurance of presence, His declaration of resurrection life.
In your own life, think of the “heaven and earth” that feel unshakable—relationships, health, success—and ask how you might hold them with open hands. The illuminated letters remind us that only God’s Word remains when all else is stripped away. This truth is not meant to frighten, but to free us. The eternal Word invites us out of anxiety and into peace: a peace grounded not in the shifting world, but in the unchanging voice of Christ, whose words light our path when everything else grows dim.
