VOTD: John 8:12


NIV: John8:12 - When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, "I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life."


Theme: The central theme of this verse is the divine guidance offered by Jesus. He positions himself as a beacon of light to all those who choose to follow his teachings, promising a path free from darkness and the assurance of eternal life. 

Emotions: The emotions provoked here are comfort and reassurance, as Jesus promises guidance and eternal life to his followers. The phrase 'never walk in darkness' brings a feeling of hope, as it assures protection from evil or despair.
