Verse Of The Day: James 4:10

NIV: James 4:10

Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up.

Theme: The main theme of this Bible verse is humility and the reward that comes with it. It speaks about submitting oneself under God's authority and recognizing His supremacy.

Emotions: The emotions which it evokes are piety, hope, and reverence. There's also an underlying promise of elevation or being uplifted, which further evokes feelings of relief, joy, and anticipation.

Imagery: The verse paints a picture of a humble person kneeling before God, accepting His authority, with the expectancy of ultimately being lifted up by Him. It thus creates an image of vulnerability turning into empowerment.

Illustration: Draw a person kneeling and praying with a humble and reverent expression before an immense light, symbolizing God's presence. Gradual rays of light should then be drawn enveloping the person, symbolizing the elevation promised in the verse—a transformation portraying modesty escalating to a state of blessing and fortitude. The overall illustration should firmly communicate humility leading to divine elevation.
