Verse Of The Day: Revelation 21: 2-4

NIV: Revelation 21: 2-4

I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Look! God’s dwelling place is now among the people, and he will dwell with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God. ‘He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death’ or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.”

Theme: This verse include divine love, salvation, transformation, hope, and comfort. This scripture refers to the end times, with the arrival of a new holy city and a shift of the divine presence from heaven to among people. It discusses the cessation of suffering, reinforcing themes of hope, comfort, and salvation.

Emotions: The emotions embedded in this scripture are joy and relief. Joy is prominent in the arrival of the 'new Jerusalem', depicted like a beautifully dressed bride, signaling a major shift from the old order. Relief comes in the promise of God wiping away every tear, abolishing death, mourning, crying, and pain—an end to human suffering.

Imagery: The rich imagery portrays a hopeful and divine environment. The 'new Jerusalem' descending from heaven paints a grand and magnificent scene, highly illustrative of divinity and purity. God living amongst His people personifies divine love. The metaphor of the city as a bride is a strong portrayal of purity, beauty, and renewal.

Illustration: Create an ethereal landscape of the 'new Jerusalem' descending from a bright, celestial heaven. The city should glow with golden luminescent light, full of intricate details symbolizing purity and divinity. It looks exactly like a bride, dressed in white with ornaments sparkling around her—the landscape is tranquil and serene. In the foreground, a diverse collection of human figures look up in awe and wonder, their faces marked by clear relief and tears wiped away. A gentle, comforting figure, God, walks among them, wiping their tears, the divine love and intimacy evident. In the backdrop, visualize the oppressive sight of the 'old order', grey and fading away, adding to the stark contrast.
