Verse Of The Day: Ephesians 3:20-21


NIV: Ephesians 3:20-21

Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.


Theme: The verse centers around the theme of God's infinite capability and power, His divine omnipotence, His glory that permeates every facet of everyone's life, in the church, through Christ, across generations and for eternity. Another major theme is the encouragement of trust and hope in God's ability to surpass our understanding or imaginings. 

Emotions: The verse arouses feelings of awe, reverence, and unshakable trust toward God. The affirmation at the end imparts a sense of conviction and resolve, imparting comfort that God's power is actively working within us. It gives a sense of godly fear, humility, undying hope, and sincere gratitude. 

Imagery: Imagery involved is the vast, unending nature of God’s power and might. It almost creates mental pictures of God performing incredible, miraculous deeds that go beyond human comprehension or the beauty and magnificence emanating from God's glory in the church and in Christ Jesus. 

Illustration: Illustrate a surreal, majestic scene depicting the vast, infinite universe filled with galaxies, stars, and cosmic wonders. At the center of it all, depict a grand, radiant light symbolizing God's power that is infinitely more than we can imagine. Draw smaller rays from this light entering different earth scenes depicting church, individuals (to depict the power at work within us), and representations of different generations. At the bottom, you could have a simple church filled with light, with a cross or an image of Jesus, highlighting the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus. Let the illustration be filled with warm, vivid colors, symbolizing the emotions of awe, reverence, hope, and gratitude.
