Verse Of The Day: Hebrews 11:1
Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.
Theme: The theme of this verse is the concept and power of faith. It underscores that faith is belief, trust, and confidence in something, especially in the context of religious belief in God. It emphasizes that faith is a solid foundation or assurance of the things we can't see but hope to achieve or receive.
Emotions: This verse elicits feelings of hope, reassurance, courage, and certainty. It communicates a sense of comfort and strength derived from faith. It summons emotions that believe in possibilities, even amidst uncertainties and unseen futures.
Imagery: The verse paints a mental picture of intangibility yet firm assurance. It is as if one is reaching out into an unseen space, confident that they will grasp onto something solid. The imagery is that of a person confident and secure, facing an invisible future with positivity and optimism.
Illustration: Draw a person standing at the edge of a cliff, looking towards the open sky with empty hands, extended forward. The person isn't afraid or hesitant, but filled with steadfastness and anticipation. Let the sky color signify hope and expectation. Near the person, draw a faint, ghost-like city or paradise (representing unseen promises) faintly visible, signifying the things hoped for and assured of despite the current invisibility. This image could bring out the verse's sense of faith as confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.
