NIV: Psalm 138:2

I will bow down toward your holy temple and will praise your name for your unfailing love and your faithfulness, for you have so exalted your solemn decree that it surpasses your fame.

Theme: The theme of this verse is worship, unwavering faith, devotion, and the greatness of God's love and faithfulness. The psalmist, likely David, acknowledges the supreme importance and surpassing greatness of God's commandments, laws, and His word.

Emotions: This verse evokes a sense of reverence, humility, gratitude, and awe in relation to God's unfailing love, faithfulness and His exalted decree.

Imagery: The verse paints a vivid image of a worshiper humbly kneeling down towards the holy temple, signifying submission, respect, and adoration for God. This is coupled with an image of God's famed decree being so magnificent that it surpasses even His renowned fame.

Illustration: Draw a picture with a person kneeling down in a place filled with radiant light, representing the holy temple. This person has their hands raised, looking towards the heavens with a reverent expression, indicating praise. Above them, one can imagine a powerful, bright ray of light or an angelic figure symbolizing God's surpassing decree. The surroundings might show symbols of God's fame – perhaps golden trophies or stars – to illustrate that His decree surpasses even His fame.
