Verse of the day: Hebrews 12:2

"fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God."

My dear friends, as we gather in the contemplation of the word of God, let us be drawn to this profound scripture from Hebrews 12:2. It powerfully speaks about Jesus, the radiant embodiment of faith, who stands as our guide and mentor.

As we consider Jesus, our rendering Savior, we see that He embraced the struggle of the cross with an unwavering faith, without any indication of hesitation or dread. He scorned its shame, demonstrating a courage beyond human comprehension.

Jesus, the 'pioneer' of our faith, is the one who started this journey before us, carving a path that we may follow. As the 'perfecter' of our faith, He is the one who perseveres to the end, paving the way for us to strive towards faithfulness.

We're reminded that at the heart of Christ’s journey to the cross was ‘joy’. Surely, it was not the joy derived from the suffering itself, but from the redemption it would bring. That joy encapsulated God's profound love for mankind, a love that willingly endured shame and pain for our salvation.

Finally, we visualize our Savior, triumphant, seated at the right hand of the throne of God - a place of supreme honor and glory. Every challenge, each moment of suffering, was victorious in the fulfilment of God's will. This victory is now shared with us, His followers, as we too, by faith, overcome the trials of the world.

As we meditate on these visual metaphor, let us cling to the image of our Savior's unwavering faith in face of adversity. We're reminded that our own personal crosses, burdens, and trials are not without purpose and that with our eyes fixed on Jesus, we too can endure, knowing that joy and triumph await us in God's eternal kingdom. It's not an easy path, but with Jesus as our pioneer and perfecter, we're capable of walking it faithfully and courageously.
