Verse of the day: Hebrews 7:25

"Therefore he is able to save completely those who come to God through him, because he always lives to intercede for them."

This verse from Hebrews is one of the most comforting declarations in all of Scripture: “Therefore he is able to save completely those who come to God through him, because he always lives to intercede for them.” It does not merely say that Christ is able to help us occasionally, forgive us partially, or rescue us temporarily. It says He is able to save completely. Fully. Perfectly. Finally. The salvation Jesus gives is not fragile, unfinished, or uncertain. It is grounded in His eternal life and in His unending ministry on behalf of His people.

That is why the image of an unquenchable lamp before an open doorway is such a fitting visual metaphor for this passage. The lamp represents the living, ceaseless presence of Christ. It is not a flickering candle about to go out, but a steady flame that speaks of endurance, watchfulness, and divine faithfulness. The open doorway symbolizes access to God—something we could never force open by our own effort, morality, or religious striving. Through Jesus, the way is open. Through Jesus, the welcome remains. Through Jesus, those who come are not turned away.

The beauty of this verse is found not only in Christ’s power to save, but in His present activity. He always lives to intercede. Even now, Jesus is not distant, silent, or indifferent. He is alive and active. He carries His people in love before the Father. When we feel weak in prayer, burdened by failure, or weary from spiritual battles, this truth steadies the heart: our hope does not rest in the strength of our grip on God, but in Christ’s constant advocacy for us.

In daily life, many believers struggle with the fear that they are too inconsistent, too broken, or too far gone. But Hebrews lifts our eyes away from self-measurement and places them on the sufficiency of Christ. He saves completely because He remains forever. His grace is not exhausted by our need. His mercy is not interrupted by our weakness. His priestly love does not expire.

So today, come to God through Him with confidence. Bring your sin, your confusion, your longing, and your exhaustion. The door is open, and the lamp is still burning. Jesus is enough—not only to begin your salvation, but to carry you all the way home.

Prayer: Lord Jesus, thank You that You save completely and never cease to intercede for Your people. When I am weak, remind me that Your strength is sufficient. When I am fearful, assure me that Your work is complete and Your presence is constant. Draw me near to God through You, and teach me to rest in the confidence of Your everlasting love. Amen.
