A Word That Does Not Fade

“All your words are true; all your righteous laws are eternal.”

We live among words that are edited, withdrawn, contradicted, and forgotten. Promises are revised. Headlines change by the hour. Advice that once seemed certain is soon replaced by a different certainty. In such a world, this verse offers a place for the soul to stand: God’s words are true, and his righteous judgments endure.

The verse does not say that some of God’s words are trustworthy. It says all. His promises, commands, warnings, and invitations arise from the same faithful character. Even when Scripture challenges us, it does not deceive us. God speaks truth not to diminish life but to lead us into life.

Imagine this truth pictured in a medieval illumination. At the center lies an open, golden book resting on a massive rock. Around it, old towers crumble and royal banners fade. The contrast is deliberate. Kingdoms rise and fall; customs change; human opinions pass away. Yet the Word remains open, radiant, and secure. The rock reminds us that God’s truth is not dependent upon our mood, understanding, or approval.

From the book stretches a straight path toward a shining city. This image portrays God’s law not as a cold list of restrictions but as a road home. His commands reveal what is good, protect what is precious, and train our hearts to love what is righteous. We may not always see the entire road, but his Word gives enough light for the next faithful step.

Beside the book stands an evergreen tree rooted near flowing water. Seasons turn around it, yet it remains alive. So it is with the person who draws daily nourishment from Scripture. Hard seasons still come, but the roots deepen. Faith becomes steadier, wisdom matures, and hope survives the winter.

When the voices around us become loud or confusing, we can return to the open book. We can ask: What has God said? What does his character reveal? What faithful step lies before me?

Today, receive his Word as both anchor and lamp. Let it steady you where life feels uncertain and guide you where the way seems dim. Everything temporary will eventually fade, but the truth of God will remain—righteous, radiant, and eternally trustworthy.
